The Army of Giants

It happened that an army of giants was going through valleys, paths, and ways, destroying everything. Apparently, they were looking for something that they could not find. The townspeople would place gold, silver and precious stones in front of their cities, and they would take the precious stones and would keep on destroying, breaking things, killing the habitants; leaving desolation behind. They went through many towns and valleys of the world, leaving everything in ruins and destruction. Then, the turn came for a very small town, it was very poor but with something very worthy that was life. The townspeople were thinking what could they give since they did not have anything and in that case, they would die for sure.
